Meet your new skincare routine – a simplified, no-nonsense regime to start the day with a punch and unwind before dreaming away stress.
The number one question, besides related to ingredients and efficacy, we’re asked is: I love the AM + PM serum set, but how does it fit into an easy, quick skin care routine? We took that question to our team and board of experts, and here’s what they said…
Morning boost regimen:
1. Cleanser:
The First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser is a gentle, non-stripping formula with powerful antioxidants that cleanse, hydrate and fight against free radicals. CeraVe’s Hydrating Facial Cleanser is another team tried, tested and approved favorite.
2. Makeup removal:
Simple micellar water does the trick. Pocket friendly, clean options we love include La Roche-Posay’s Micellar Cleansing Water and Makeup Remover and Bioderma Sensibio H2O.
3. Brightening Serum:
Our 15% Vitamin C Glow Serum is sure to leave you with a healthy, dewy glow as well as ultra-hydrated, supple skin. This supercharged serum contains the perfect blend of Ayurvedic superfoods like turmeric and ashwagandha with potent actives such as pure Vitamin E, ferulic acid, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid that target dark spots, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and dullness. Be sure to apply to cleansed and fully dried skin to allow the serum to soak in and for optimal, all-day results. Store in a skin care fridge to lock in freshness and to minimize normal shifts in color or smell from such a high concentration of Vitamin C.
4. Moisturizer:
Augustinus Bader’s The Cream is a light, yet highly efficacious splurge skin care product. If you’re looking for affordable-meets-clean ingredients, Honest Beauty’s Hydrogel Cream is a must! It’s cooling formula is made with mostly water for ideal hydration.
5. SPF:
Our team currently uses Cocokind’s Daily SPF and SkinCeuticals Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50, but spoiler alert --- we’ve got a little something up our sleeves we think you’ll love! Coming later this year!
Pro Tip: Our in-house Ayurvedic practitioner recommends using shatadhauta ghrita as a non-irritating, anti-inflammatory, natural moisturizer. This power packed ingredient is an age-old hydrant for bouncy, youthful looking skin.
Nighttime wind-down routine:
1. Cleanser:
We recommend the same cleanser as in the AM routine. In our opinion, adding to the mix with yet another cleanser disrupts the consistency your skin loves and grows attached to.
2. Retinol-alternative Serum:
Our 1% Bakuchiol Sunset Restore Serum has all your PM-routine needs in a single bottle. Bakuchiol, a pregnancy and breast-feeding safe ingredient, is the plant-based alternative to retinol. This blend of tradition and science rooted ingredients including amla, saffron, squalane and tripeptide complex promote elasticity and firmness as well as relax and rejuvenate the skin while evening the appearance of skin tone.
Pro Tip: This one comes from Diipa herself. In dryer seasons and locations, she recommends using our PM Sunset Restore Serum on the lips and elbows. In fact, feel free to use generously anywhere your skin needs a bit of rejuvenating, yet soothing TLC. The calming mix of Ayurvedic ingredients gets to work overnight for soft-like-a-baby, hydrated lips and skin.
