Spring has sprung and it's time to transition your skincare routine! With rising temperatures and humidity as we inch closer and closer to summer, comes changing skin needs. Here are a few suggestions to help ease your regime into the season ahead!
Double Cleanse
With spring comes the instant urge to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather, especially post-pandemic and being cooped up inside during cold winter months. While fresh air is always a good idea, increased exposure to the sun and other elements, however, introduces external toxins to the skin. Double cleansing, particularly with a nourishing or micro-exfoliating cleanser and followed by a lighter, gel or foaming water-based cleanser, helps to unclog pores and wash away free radicals.
Once the skin is cleansed and prepped for skincare, our Sunrise Glow Serum is the perfect next morning routine step. It includes 15% Vitamin C for brightness and age-defying benefits, Ashwagandha and Niacinamide which have pore-unclogging properties, an anti-pollution veil and blue light filter to help shield that beautiful skin of yours from the effects of screen time and light exposure, among other top tier ingredients.
And don’t forget SPF!
Exfoliate
Exfoliation is the key to healthy and glowing skin (in moderation). In spring and summer months, we suggest using a gentle exfoliator twice a week to prevent any buildup of impurities, remove any dead skin from the winter’s cold air, and allow the skin to better absorb your skincare products. That said, too much of anything is not the best route, and over-exfoliating can make the skin sensitive and dry. Choose mild exfoliators wisely and let your skin guide you in terms of when to go easier with them.
Hydrate Hydrate Hydrate
Swap your heavy winter moisturizer for layered hydration using serums, oils, mists and lighter moisturizers. This technique will create a thinner barrier that is just as effective as its successor but will work wonders if you plan on stepping out into the heat. The Sunrise Glow Serum (which is water based by the way) and Sunset Restore Serum are lightweight and packed with ingredients such as Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Bisabolol and Squalane to lock in moisture and keep the skin feeling nourished.
Choose Antioxidants
To protect the skin from collagen-destroying UV rays, fine lines and wrinkles, opt for skincare products that are rich in antioxidants and peptides. Our Sunrise Glow Serum has 15% Vitamin C, Turmeric, Ferulic Acid and Vitamin E – all of which are powerful antioxidants. The Sunset Restore Serum has both Rosehip Oil and Tripeptide Complex, which have highly sought-after antioxidant properties. These ingredients help protect the skin around the clock, while leaving behind soft, supple, radiant skin.
